QWikquote Express FAQ
Q: Why would my price quote change?
A: There are a few things that affect the
price quote and that is why you need the most
accurate information when requesting a quote.
CLASS and DENSITY issues are the two main reasons
why price quotes change.
Q: When will I know if the price changed?
A: With QWikquote you will know the VERY next
day if there are any changes to your shipment.
There will be NO SUPRISES to your final costs!
Q: How do I insure I have the right information
when I ask for a quote?
A: Our customer service people will be glad
to assist you with any information you need to
insure an accurate quote. Simply ask online or
call our customer service lines.
Q: What does my quote include?
A: Your quote includes ONLY your Dock to Dock
charges. Assessorials or additional services,
such as Lift gates or inside deliveries are additional
and should be requested at time of quote.
Q. What do you mean by ‘National’
coverage?
A. We mean that as long as YOU control the
payment of the freight, we can quote you point-to-point
from AND to anywhere in the United States!
Q. When is an LTL shipment NOT and LTL shipment?
A. Good Questions! Typically an LTL shipment
is defined as anywhere from 1 to 8 pallets or
skids with a weight of 10,000 lbs or less with
appropriate density.
Q: How does ‘Density’ affect the
price?
A: Density can dictate a different ‘CLASS’
of freight based on the amount of ‘space’
or ‘pounds per cubic foot’ it takes
up in the Trailer, Chances are if your freight
does not equal a ‘ppcf’ of around
6 to 8, it falls into a ‘HIGH’ density
category.
Q: How do I calculate my ‘Density’
?
A: Two ways. Either CALL our customer service
department to confirm your Class and Density,
or simply Multiply the Length x Width x Height
of your pallet (Or average Pallet) DIVIDED by
1728 ! That gives you the ‘Cubic Feet’.
Then take the ‘weight’ of the pallet
and DIVIDE by the ‘Cubic Feet’. If
the ‘number’ is less then 6, and you
think your ‘class’ is 50 to 92.5…CALL
CUSTOMER SERVICE TO CONFIRM YOUR CORRECT CLASSIFICATION!
Q: How do I figure out my CLASS?
A: Just describe your commodity, number of
pallets, weights and dimensions to our customer
service department and they will help you find
a class. Rule of thumb: Heavier the pallet, the
LOWER the class! But there ARE exceptions!
Q: Can I be set up on a TARIFF instead of
quoting EVERY shipment?
A: ABSOLUTELY! Simply ask customer service
to have a sales associate call you and see if
you qualify for a tariff.
